Benjamin Ang

Class of 2026
School of Business and Management

As a working professional who frequently travels for business, I wanted a postgraduate programme that would allow me to continue developing my skills without compromising my work commitments. The MBA programme from the University of Hertfordshire at 91¿´Æ¬Íø Academy stood out because of its flexible blended learning approach, which allows students to attend classes both on campus and online. Having access to recorded lessons also made it easier to manage my schedule while ensuring I stayed on track with my studies.

My learning experience at 91¿´Æ¬Íø Academy has been both enriching and practical. The lecturers encourage critical thinking and active participation, while the supportive learning environment allows students to collaborate and learn from one another's diverse experiences. The programme has also provided me with opportunities to apply business theories to real-world scenarios, making the learning experience highly relevant to my professional role.

One of the most memorable projects involved exploring how AI tools can be used to support management decision-making. By comparing AI-generated recommendations against academic theories and professional practices, I gained a deeper understanding of the importance of balancing technology with human judgement, particularly in multicultural business environments. This experience reinforced that while technology can enhance efficiency, cultural awareness and empathy remain essential leadership qualities.

Like many working adults pursuing further education, balancing work, personal commitments and studies was one of the biggest challenges I faced. The flexibility of the programme, combined with careful time management and self-discipline, helped me stay focused and successfully manage my responsibilities.

Currently working in sales management, I regularly engage with stakeholders across different Asian markets. The MBA has strengthened my understanding of sustainability, corporate governance and cross-cultural leadership, while modules such as Financial Management and Analysis, Human Resource Management, and Operations and Business Analytics have equipped me with practical skills that I can immediately apply in the workplace.

For anyone considering this programme, my advice is to stay motivated, participate actively in class discussions, and take every opportunity to apply what you learn. The MBA journey requires commitment, but the knowledge, skills and perspectives you gain will be invaluable both professionally and personally.

One quote that continues to inspire me is: “ÐÄÓж¨Á¦£¬ÎÞÍù²»Àû£¬ÃüµÀÕÆ¿ØÓÚÎÒÊÖ.”

Loosely translated, it means, “With a focused mind, one can achieve anything; my fate is in my own hands.”
